SABAH DAP Vice Chairman, Edward Ewol Mujie, said that it is perplexing why Datuk Wong Yit Ming SAPP Treasurer General is saying that Sabah political parties should be allowed to manage Sabah, Sarawak political parties to manage Sarawak, and Semenanjung managed by Semenanjung political parties, and after that they together can form a coalition at the Federal level.

Edward queried that since SAPP was one time in BN to govern Sabah with Datuk Yong Teck Lee the President of SAPP as the Chief Minister of Sabah from 1995 to 1997 under the CM rotation system introduced by the former Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, why Datuk Yong Teck Lee did not raise and pursue this matter when he was the Sabah Chief Minister?

It would have been the best and right time for him to bring this subject up with the BN central committee and even the Federal government level for further discussion. It would be very interesting to know what would be the responses of the rest of the component parties in BN as well as the feeling of the Federal Cabinet. Why is it now and not before?

Edward said, SAPP pulled out of BN is because Datuk Yong Teck Lee was not happy on the treatment given to SAPP after the 2008 General Election by the former Prime Minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, therefore ‘appropriate action’ was taken, which included the ‘vote of no confidence’ and followed by the pull out from BN. That is why Datuk Wong Yit Ming brought this out and spoke openly on the matter.

However, Edward said it is also very interesting to note that when SAPP pulled out from BN, not all their State Assembly representative followed suit, but two of them joined Party Garakan, one of the BN component parties. The Deputy Speaker of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly Datuk Frankie Chong until today is still with SAPP. According to Edward, in fact he should have resigned since SAPP is no longer a component of BN. Can he still be a part of the government, his position as the deputy speaker was appointed and not elected anyway?

Therefore, we can see that there are many points that create doubts on whether SAPP is sincere towards the Sabahan, or these are just merely meant for themselves.
