THE rough action and bust of anger on the soon-over Lintas Square parking woes did not help Dr. Yee Mok Chai either in his image and prospect as a “wakil Rakyat”! There is much negative criticism arising from that particular parking fees collection booth incident.

The actual fact is that the booth will have to go even without the so called ‘intervention’ by the Minister YEE. Many other people had informed DBKK about the problem in the morning when the problem of traffic jam began. The KK MP Dr.Hiew King Cheu after receiving complaints was immediately on site to investigate and informed the Mayor Datuk Illyias to act and to solve the problem. 

The Sabah DAP organizing secretary and also the Inanam chairman Jeffrey Kumin said Dr. Yee should be sensitive enough on such issue, and not to make use of the issue for his own political mileage and to demonstrate his power. Further more, if Yee is so concern about the car parking issue, he should see that the contract of the car parking company with DBKK is terminated once for all.

The car parking fees problem in KK was once the main issue taken up by Yee when he was still in the opposition. Why he suddenly quiet down for such a long time after he joined BN government?

Is it because there is no more problem once you are in BN? He has been in BN for so many years now and also a Cabinet Minister, obviously he has the full power to arrange the parking contract to be reviewed, why he did not do that for so many years?

It is high time that Yee to act on it and get the state cabinet to either cancel the contract or for DBKK to take back the car parking fees management and collection.  

The parking company contract will officially expire on 2012, and will this be renewed? Jeffrey said it is better for DBKK to manage and all the money collected can be 100% used by DBKK. In the past, the garbage collection in KK City was real bad before DBKK managed it back.

Now we see no problem with garbage collection, therefore the same could go to the car parking fees collection. DBKK can handle it well on the collection, especially with the improved management skill within and having enough staffs too.

Yee should do what he is paid to do as a ‘wakil rakyat’ and minister.
